Philosophy, a Visual Encyclopedia

Over the past few months, I’ve been working as consultant editor for Dorling Kindersley, on their forthcoming Philosophy: A Visual Encyclopedia. It’s been an enormously fun project to be involved in, and I’m delighted with how the final book is looking. As with all DK books, it is a very handsome thing indeed.

This is the third book I’ve worked on for DK (the previous two were Philosophers: Their Lives and Works, and the bestselling behemoth The Philosophy Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained.) The book aims to be engaging and accessible, and is written for readers aged 11+. It is based around philosophical questions—rather than particular philosophers—but along the way, it takes in Plato, Confucius, Simone de Beauvoir, and many more. It’s due out some time in November 2020, and I’m looking forward to seeing the final thing.
