For the last few months, I’ve been based in Thessaloniki, where I’ve been working on my book for Granta, Hello Stranger: stories of connection in a divided world. It’s been a fruitful few months of writing, connecting and research. I’m just about to head to Bulgaria for a week of research up there, so it was very timely to get an email this morning from the Society of Authors, letting me know that I’ve been awarded a small Authors’ Foundation Grant. This should help considerably towards offsetting research costs.
If you are a writer based in the UK, do consider applying to the SoA. You don’t need to be a member to apply, and it is a straightforward, friendly application process.
