I’ve got a new course starting here in Sofia this January, as a part of the Wind&Bones project that I co-direct. From January, alongside the nonfiction, memoir and life-writing course that we run with Sofia University’s AFEAS, we are also running a course on writing, creativity and activism. Here’s the information from our Wind&Bones website:
Writing is a kind of activism. Whether fiction, non-fiction or poetry, writing has the power to remake the world. It shakes us up, changes how we see things, transforms the way we think and feel, and opens up new possibilities for action.
We live in a world in crisis. It is easy to feel overwhelmed. But by individual and collective action, we can begin to change things for the better. In this intensive weekend course, we will be exploring how writing can be a powerful tool for transforming the world.
In Remaking the World, you will explore the issues that most concern you, and the stories that are crying out to be told. And you will hone your skills in communicating these issues and stories to others.
Suitable everyone from beginners to experienced writers.
The two-day course is going to run initially on January 25th to 26th, and then in February on the 22nd and 23rd. We’re being hosted by the lovely peole at HOURSPACE on Ivan Vazov street, bang in the centre of town. The cost is 180 lev (or 90 euros) for the weekend. Give me a shout, or say hello on Wind&Bones, if you are interested in joining us!
